CAN YOU DO IT?
Development Time: 7 days

Can You Do It is a game-like activity, part of a workshop that aims to teach elementary school kids about inclusivity and disabilities.
The game consists of a series of "challenges", which are mundane tasks like pouring a glass of water or going to the bathroom, which have to be completed by the kids while following their own "limitation", which mimics having a disability. The goal for the players is to work together and see how many challenges they can complete.
This game was created as part of an Erasmus Program with an interdisciplinary and intercultural team.

PERSONAL CONTRIBUTIONS
GAME CONCEPT
As the sole Game Design student of the group, I came up with the idea of a gamified activity to keep children interested.
The core game mechanics were developed after an interview with pedagogical expert and university professor Carla Pedroso de Lima, which gave me a lot of insights and led to further iterations, such as letting the kids roam around the classroom, making kids play the game in groups, andhow to properly explain the rules of the game.
I created a prototype of the game with cards that could be hung around the classroom and let kids axplore the different challenges.

PROJECT PITCH
At the end of the project, I pitched our product to a jury of expert entrepreneurs in only 5 minutes. I explained how the workshop would work and how this game will help elementary school kids to embrace diversity and learn about inclusivity, with backup from our research.
This project was named best product of the entire program.
